Show hangs through November 22nd\, 2026. Art House 310 is located at 310 S. Laura. Two blocks SE of Douglas & Washington in downtown Wichita. \nNOTE: Open gallery hours throughout the exhibition are generally Tuesday and Thursday\, 6-9pm and Sunday\, 1-4pm.* These hour may vary so check our social media for weekly open gallery hours. \nAIDA BELL \nAida Bell is a woman of science and art. A self-taught abstract expressionist\, she was born in Africa and raised between Paris and Algiers. She grew up in a family where culture was nurtured\, art cherished\, and travel a way of life\, an upbringing that deeply shaped her creative vision. She moved to the United States with her husband more than 29 years ago. \nWorking entirely from imagination\, Bell explores the world that surrounds us\, what we see and feel\, what we hide\, and what connects us. She translates emotion and beauty into visual form through the rhythm of shapes\, color\, movement\, and texture in her paintings and sculptures. \nHer work has captivated audiences at prestigious art fairs across the United States\, including The Other Art Fair and Superfine Art Fair in Dallas\, Washington\, DC\, Miami Art Basel\, and New York. Bringing together expressive vibrant portraits and lyrical abstract figurative works\, the exhibition explores the space between recognition and interpretation. It’s where a face\, gesture\, or body can remain familiar while becoming something entirely unexpected. \nThrough saturated color\, energetic mark-making\, layered textures\, and fluid forms\, these paintings invite viewers to experience the figure beyond literal representation. Some works emerge from recognizable human presence; others dissolve the figure into color\, gesture\, and abstraction. \nRather than simply depicting people\, the works explore presence and how color/paint can communicate emotion\, energy\, individuality\, and connection.
