NATURE BASED – NATURE INSPIRED WORKS BY CHARLOTTE MARTIN AND JIM SIMPSON
CHARLOTTE MARTIN received her BFA in painting / drawing from Wichita State University, after studying at Arizona State University.
Her fascination with nature began early in life, and has only grown over time. Much of her work focuses on the smallest items – seeds, seed pods, small grasses, roots, and dead leaves. And, of course, there’s the interest in birds, which continues to be part of her focus.

Jim’s process lets the image evolve on the surface…working up layers, destroying parts, letting others parts gleam through from underneath, carving into previous layers. These actions all contribute to a richer image with depth and texture. His expressionistic imagery is primarily is focused on botanical and wildlife art.
