TARAH LYNN CLARK
“Nature’s Contrast” is a collection of work which explores the vibrance of nature from my point of view.
I’ve been painting colorful florals, landscapes, and creatures that surround me here in Kansas. They have inspired me to capture and push the limits of their beauty with vibrant colors of flowing acrylic paint. Doing this allows me to give the piece a raw movement, like it would have naturally, but from my perspective.
Once the movement of the piece begins, I layer on defined dark contour lines of India Ink, expanding on the textured contrast details that organically appear.
These statement pieces breathe life and beauty into a space and I’m glad to be able to bring them to you.

LARI HOWARD
I know there is a scientific explanation for how we see light and color. But how do you explain the magic of the iridescent flash of a hummingbird’s wing, the diamond sparkle of dew on a flower in the morning sunlight, the mystery in a cast shadow or that rich golden glow at dusk? The allure of trying to capture these moments is too great, too tempting for me to ignore. I am bewitched. I want my paintings to be an invitation to join me along a forest path to a hidden clearing and a secret garden where we might see the wonder of spring’s first blossom. Art can inform and make us think, but it should delight and surprise us sometimes too.
Lari has always loved art, probably from the first crayon placed in her hand. In college she took art at Southwestern Oklahoma State University, then various classes and workshops whenever possible. Life and moving every few years often interfered, but with retirement she has renewed her commitment to painting. Lari has taken workshops and studied under the following artists; Cecy Turner, Naomi Brotherton, Walt Davis, Michael Holter and Stephen Zhang to name a few. New to Kansas but excited about the art scene in Wichita, she is a member of the Kansas Art Guild and Wichita Fine Arts Atelier studying under Vincent Woods and Don Praseuth. She recently participated in the Riverfest Plein Air competition winning Third Place overall.
